Lake Ontario Ecosystem Model (LOEM)

Derek Schlea and Ed Verhamme will be speaking at the State of Lake Ontario Conference this week. The conference, hosted by the International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR), will be held online from March 9–11, 2021. The conference is part of an annual State of Lake conference series designed to promote collaboration between the science and policy communities (e.g., lake researchers/scientists, managers, educators, nonprofits, etc.).

Ed Verhamme, who is the current President of IAGLR, will open the conference on March 9 with a welcome note. Derek Schlea will be providing a pre-recorded presentation for the March 10 session titled, “Applying Models to Understand, Quantify and Predict Nutrients and Algae in Lake Ontario.” Derek will be talking about LimnoTech’s work with SUNY Buffalo on “Model Development for Nutrient Dynamics in Lake Ontario.” Contributors and co-authors include Todd Redder and Yuan Hui and Joe Atkinson at SUNY Buffalo.
